1974 Railway
Welcome to the 1974 railway pages.
This area relates to the original Parkside railway built in Stanford during the 70’s.
The railway was a 5″ gauge ground level live steam track. It was a complete oval of track built with two lifting sections, One over the main path/Drive to the house the other over what was originaly the enterance to the doctors suregry.
The pages that follow document the construction during the late 70s, operation , demise and final removal of the railway in 2005 before the demolition of the house to make way for a block of flats.
