1974 Construction
The construction of Parkside railway versionI began with the cutting of the first turf in January 1974 an culminated in a grand opening in June that year.
The site which looked level did infact have a steady fall front to back. a steady gradient of 1 in 120 would fit the contours of the site.
The crew that worked nearly every sunday January to June were Ian Craig, Andrew Craig, Don Fenton, Paul Goldsmith, Peter Paton and Hugh Seaman plus a few others.
