Removal of the railway from Parkside Stanford.

2007 saw a sad day, the removal of the track form Parkside.

A van was hired and off we went to cart the track away. As with most of the construction the weather behaved it’s self.

Track was broken into its 10ft lengths. As the rail joints were staggered this meant completely removing one rail. The fishplates were removed plus one screw per sleeper, the other being just slackened off. ALL the bolts in the fishplates undid with little or no effort 33 years after they were done up!
